Agents of SHIELD returns

A spin-off to ABC’s MARVEL’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. has been long in the making, but all seemed dead towards the end of 2015 as little news came out on the supposed series. ABC network, part of Disney, made the announcement of the upcoming spin-off for a pilot order, which means yet again the Marvel Universe expands.

Labelled as MARVEL’s MOST WANTED, the series sees characters Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) as they get up to their own missions aside from their AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. outings.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. has seen many ups and downs in it’s three seasons, having been on the cusp of being axed back in its first season, before managing to pick things up by involving the Hydra plot of CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER in 2014. The series has now taken more control over the INHUMANS comic characters as they’ll be getting their own film in 2019, however, it is unsure how much AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. will play in that film.

MARVEL’s MOST WANTED seems on target as ABC President Paul Lee revealed:

“We are making it in the next few months,” Lee said during a TCA panel today. “It’s a really good script.”

This will make Marvel’s third show on ABC with AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. entering it’s second half of season three and second show, AGENT CARTER, coming next month for it’s second season.
