As comic book films have seen over the years, it’s easier to make a big packed character film with numerous heroes than it is for just a single solo outing. We’ve seen this occur in let down films such as CAPTAIN AMERICA and various other Marvel films, until the formula was changed to that of having team up films, packed full of characters. FOX have been doing this for a longtime with that of the X-MEN franchise, but their singular anti-hero DEADPOOL won’t be going out alone either.
No, DEADPOOL will not have one but two sort of helpers in the film with Negasonic Teenage Warhead, as well as X-MEN character Colossus. The later, who has appeared in the X-MEN franchise, won’t be doing his usual switch between skin form and hardened steel complex as he’ll actually be staying fully metal for the upcoming film.
Greg Lasalle, Colossus’ facial actor for the film, had this to say:
“Well actually, this film he’s only in his metal form. I don’t know if you knew that. So you won’t see a human form of Colossus in Deadpool, only the CG version.”
Colossus won’t be played by Daniel Cudmore this time round, who took on the role throughout the X-MEN franchise, but it seems they’re taking the character in a different direction, more closely based on the comics with the Russian accent included.
DEADPOOL looks to be a right romp of a comic book film and it hits theatres on February 12.
