With Marvel GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 currently filming, snippets of information are bound to slip out. Marvel has done a fine job so far keeping the film under wraps – we still have no idea who Kurt Russel is playing – but a new report claims to have finally learned what villain will challenge Marvel galactic team of screw-ups next.

According to a report from JoBlow, the Guardians will have to content with Ayesha, otherwise known as Kismet or Paragon. In the comics, Ayesha is a godlike lady who was originated as “Her,” a genetically perfect being to match “Him,” who ended up being Adam Warlock.

The Adam Warlock connection helps give this rumor some credence as the character has long been rumored to soon be entering into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have speculated that Warlock would be Star-Lord’s mysterious father (which appears to be the focus of the sequel), but director James Gunn has denied such rumors. The character has also been rumored to be a villain in the upcoming GUARDIANS/AVENGERS crossover, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.

If this report is true, this would mark Marvel’s first main female antagonist in the MCU.

Much like the Guardians themselves, Ayesha appears to be a very unknown character within the Marvel Universe, which only gives more creative license to Gunn and whoever is cast as the space faring villain. Either way, we should be learning more information about GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 in the near future.
