Jared Leto Wants To Show Up In Ben Affleck’s Solo BATMAN Outing

Ben Affleck will be directing and writing with Geoff Johns the solo BATMAN film and although we don’t have a release date, we do know a few details about the film itself and one person is very eager to show up in said solo film.

The film is rumoured to be set mainly in Arkham Asylum, the holding place of most of BATMAN’s villains due to their psychotic nature, but we also know that they want a hell of a lot of villains to be showing up, which would make perfect sense for the film if it was to be set in the dreaded asylum. The person who really wants to show his face is Jared Leto, of course as his Joker character:

“I hope it’s an introduction (of the Joker) … and not the end!” Leto tells the Toronto Sun. “Because I could easily just play the Joker a couple more times and then retire. Because it’s so fulfilling and so creative and it’s so imaginative. It’s really difficult to think about doing anything else!”

Leto will be making his DC debut in SUICIDE SQUAD and I think it’s safe to say we’d be seeing his face in plenty more films, including BATMAN. A lot of BATMAN’s story rests on Joker’s involvement as the two keep each other going, but it would be very interesting to see Leto’s Joker face off against Ben Affleck’s BATMAN.

“I think it would be incredible to see Batman and the Joker go head-to-head! This Batman and this Joker. I mean, I don’t know, that might be too much! But that would be fun,” Leto says.

I’m hoping SUICIDE SQUAD shows some of this somehow as we of course know Joker’s appearing in the film, with Affleck’s BATMAN showing up briefly as well.

SUICIDE SQUAD hits theatres August 5.
