In under a year we’ll be seeing ALIEN: COVENANT, a return of Ridley Scott to the franchise for a third time. After his second stint in the universe he created, it hit a family rocky path. PROMETHEUS met with very mixed reception, some loving it and some really hating it.
A sequel is coming, but we don’t fully understand how it’s connected with the film PROMETHEUS, nor do we know how Michael Fassbender’s android character returns to form. All we do know is, it’s expected to mix both ALIEN and PROMETHEUS in a much scarier way according to Fassbender:
“I have to say, this Alien is going to be – I’m really excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying that there’s a film that we all wanna see. It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got that sort of same scope as Prometheus, that imminent sort of disaster feel, that Alien had. So it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films. I’m really excited to see it, I think it’s gonna be super scary, number one. And again, with the massive scope of Prometheus.”
Despite not liking PROMETHEUS, I’m still excited to see what else comes from this world. Hopefully ALIEN: COVENANT manages to bring back what everyone loved about the original ALIEN.
ALIEN: COVENANT hits theatres August 4, 2017.
