Viola Davis is on the road to win her first Oscar at the moment and she’s set to star alongside Julia Roberts in an adaptation of Jodi Picoult’s SMALL GREAT THINGS.
The film is in the very early stages at the moment, so much so that there’s no writer or director attached just yet. However, LA LA LAND producer Marc Platt is set to develop the film. SMALL GREAT THINGS follows Ruth (Davis), a labour/delivery nurse of 20 years who’s told by a couple, who are white supremacists there to have their own baby, not to touch their child. When that baby dies and Ruth is the only one present, the couple, lead by Roberts, take her to court.
Davis is Oscar nominated for FENCES which arrives in the UK on February 10th. Roberts can be heard in SMURFS: THE LOST VILLAGE and seen in WONDER later this year.
