STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON scribe Andrew Berloff is to make her directorial debut over at New Line with a female mob drama entitled THE KITCHEN.

The film is to be based upon the Vertigo comic series written by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle that revolves around a group of Irish mobsters’ wives who, when their husbands are sent to prison, step-up to take control of the organized crime unit they were running in 1970s Hell’s Kitchen.

This one’s in the early stages but sounds very promising. Berloff has SLEEPLESS, which she wrote, arriving this year and, along with many projects she has in development, is working on DANGEROUS ODDS which has Margot Robbie in the lead and THE LEGEND OF CONAN, which may see Arnold Schwazenegger return.
