Peter Sarsagaard is the latest addition added to the cast of Hulu’s 9/11 drama, THE LOOMING TOWER, following Sullivan Jones, Virginia Kull, Luis Cancelmi, and Jeff Daniels.
The series is adapted from the Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-Winning 9/11 expose and the story line will follow the controversial string of events surrounding the rise of Osama bin Laden, the war in Iraq, and the tension between the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Sarsgaard is slated to play Martin Schmidt, a CIA analyst with a big ego. His character’s disadvantage comes when he is to share intelligence with John O’Neill (Daniels) and the FBI. His character, Schmidt, will end up hoarding the information himself and tensions begin to flare in the series.
THE LOOMING TOWER series is set to release a 10-episode, hour-long run adapted for Hulu. It is written by Academy Award-nominated writer Dan Futterman (FOXCATCHER) and directed by Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney (GOING CLEAR:SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF).
THE LOOMING TOWER is slated to be released October 2017.
